Finding streets that are this deserted in Central London at night is practically impossible these days. Who remembers stepping out of a nightclub in the West End all bleary eyed in the early hours of the morning trying to find a cab office? Or trying to locate the bus stop you needed to get the night bus home? The only people you would come across were the street cleaners and milkmen on their rounds. Nowadays I feel that there has been a noticeable rise in the night economy, all over London, although reports show that there has been an actual decrease in clubs more recently. More bars, clubs, and new eateries opening up, more people out and about at all times, which in turn then fuels an increase in vehicular traffic, and added on to that the rise of ride hailing apps on our phones, fuelling even more nightime traffic. To be honest, it feels like a nice break.
